It has been a remarkable first quarter in the PhD program. VPRL620 – Phenomenology and the Call to Serve embedded spiritual, investigative, and practical methods, providing me with opportunities to be an authentic learner.
The creative process is the root of my cosmology, and I jumped in with head and heart. Synthesizing course material by way of free writing, prose, poetry, experiential activities, and art-making produced rich, instinctual, and organic results. Varying perspectives shared in the readings and videos prepared each node in a thoughtful way. I have awakened to the truthfulness and viability of visionary practices that will provide sustenance for my emerging vision seed.
Having only begun to apply skills around research, this course provides a window to further this skill in fruitful ways. Core, collaborative concepts and projects unbridled theoretical contexts, enriching the learning process to open up exciting new realms of discovery.
The course format via Populi was intuitive and user-friendly and I appreciated the experience of a different learning management system. I have been inspired by the faculty and cohort members. The love and support given to students by SWC staff is amazing. Bravo!
