My art has always been intuitive. It is a meditative process where I leave myself open to whatever comes from my heart or Spirit. I will have an idea to start with but as I interact with the materials – be it clay, paint, paper, or a mixture of mediums – the piece will take on a life of its own and evolve. I love texture and color. Whether the color is intense or more muted it is always important. The visual or physical texture of a piece is also important to the finished work. While I enjoy doing abstract work, my work frequently has animals as the subject. Currently, you will see a lot of horse images for their power, endurance, and loyalty speak to me of many things.
